In 2024, I stood by the radio, shocked to hear about the devastation caused by the forest fires in Sept-Iles, my hometown, and, before that, on Vancouver Island. Flames swallowed everything: trees, animals, the air we breathed, forcing people to evacuate their homes. That's when I realized that we must do something for our forests because every year, in addition to forest fires, millions of trees, which take 20 to 30 years to grow, are cut down to make essential everyday items such as toilet paper, paper towels, fans, etc. It's enormous! And then one question struck me: Isn't there a better way? Isn't there an eco-responsible alternative to these indispensable everyday objects?
Bamboo And Its Benefits
After a few days and nights of research, I discovered bamboo and its benefits. This incredible plant (not a tree) grows in 5 to 6 years. According to Guinness World Records 2022, bamboo holds the world record for the fastest-growing plant on earth, growing up to 91 cm per day, equivalent to almost 4 cm/hour. Can you believe it?
